Inspired by my 20 year love for the Dune universe.
I've been so unbelievably blown away by the film versions of Dune that Denis has given us. The cinematography, the love for tiny details, the depth and layers of the characters, the beauty of the costumes and locations, and the performances of all of the cast... it's all everything I could have ever hoped for as a Dune fan.
This crown was created over two weeks, and every bit of it was made by hand, with love. The sharp pieces in the center are symbolic of Shai Hulud's teeth (which are used by the Fremen as blades), the tiny sparkly Czech glass beads are meant to be the spice sparkling in the sand. The pearls are symbolic of the Bene Gesserit mothers and the way the BG pass information and power through generations, grandmother to mother to daughter (they are pearls from my dear friend’s grandma's vintage jewelry!) The gold chains are for Lady Jessica's stunning headpiece when she arrives on Arrakis. The beaded chains are for Irulan's armor-like headpieces in Denis' film. The necklace is symbolic of the Fremen women who live in simplicity and symbiosis with their desert home- strong and confident and equal to all. (The Wild Woman necklace!!)
This is a crown and necklace combo. All chains are detachable via lobster claw clips. The necklace and crown can be worn independently of each other.
Featuring shiny copper wire, polished quartz, glass beads, a cascade of detachable chains, and shell beads, this crown is so beautiful. It is truly a one of a kind masterpiece 👑✨️
NOTE: This crown is a luxury piece and should be handled with care. Due to how many chains there are on the crown, there are many places that could be tugged or pulled on without proper care. Some fading and tarnishing may occur over time, and in the event that they do, please gently wipe the chains with a jewelry polishing cloth.
